A New CertainTeed Roof In Farmington Hills Michigan

Modern Xterior Improvement was hired to install a brand new CertainTeed Landmark Roof on this beautiful home in Farmington Hills Michigan. After a with the homeowner, we reviewed samples and selected colonial slate CertainTeed Landmark shingles as the color that would most compliment the home’s exterior we trimmed the new roof with an Omniroll Ridgevent

I am glad I hired Modern Xterior, They did a great job on my new roof. I hired them and within 3 weeks I had a new roof, the job was done in 1 day. There was just one little hiccup, I believe one of the roofers accidently cut off my air intake pipe for my high efficiency furnace. Good thing I looked on my roof and noticed it otherwise it would have been a bigger problem, I emailed them the pictures of what happened and within a half an hour Jesse the owner came out to look at it. He made it right by paying for the mistake. The only other concern I did have, is I wish the foreman from the roofing crew would have at least acknowledged by knocking on the door and saying hey we are going to get starting on your roof. Anyways, that is just me nit picking. First class company in my book, I would recommend hiring them for a new roof.

We hired Modern to replace our roof as well as add 15″ of insulation to our attic. Todd was fantastic, right to the price point and didn’t make you feel like bait in a shark tank!!!
They arrived when they said they would and did our roof on the house & garage in one day, along with the insulation. The roofers were very polite and efficient! The next day, we attempted to turn on our whole house attic fan, which worked before the insulation was added. However, it didn’t work! We immediately contacted Modern. The next day, I received a call from Jesse, the owner. He arrived soon after & spent most of his day fixing a major problem that they themselves didn’t create!! Because it was his sub contractors, HE took responsibility……..a rare thing in this day and age! We had quite a lengthy conversation regarding customer service, a moral that his company TRULY adheres to. HIS lively hood, HIS company, HIS responsibility!!!!!!
I will always recommend Modern Xterior to anyone I know!!! In this day and age, it’s hard to find a company that will go above and beyond and do whatever it takes to make sure their customer is happy!!!

They did such a good job, that I’m somewhat embarrassed to admit, I literally didn’t even know they had put the gutters on until I tried to hang some lights! They had said they would come that week-ish, but they did such a quick, wonderful job with teardown, disposal of the old gutters and installation, they didn’t even leave a trace! They’re like home improvement ninjas! Gutters look great, matched the color perfectly, and now that I have realized they are there, they look so much better than my old ratty gutters that they replaced. Thanks!

I will be honest. We had a few issues with the crew that Modern sent out to do our roof recently. I wont go into all of the details about that stuff because those things and mistakes were handled very quickly and professionally. And at this point, those things really do not matter anymore. I can honestly say that it really wasn’t Moderns fault. The owner of Modern totally made up for the crews mistakes. During this whole process, I cannot begin to tell you how stressed out I was BUT, a bad situation turned into good one because the owner actually takes pride in his business and name. He personally came out 2 days in a row to fix the problems and mess ups on our new roof. I never had to point out any issues, he saw it on his own! It made him nuts that the people that he hired, did us wrong. Bottom line, he fixed everything by himself and even bought us dinner for the inconvenience. This is how a business is supposed to treat their customers! I will for sure recommend you guys because I know first hand that you stand behind your word / work. Thank you! I appreciate you and also appreciate that you took ownership for the work that was done.

Very professional company from the foreman down to the laborers. They thoroughly explained the process of what needed to be done an did it. As it was my first time getting a new roof and boards I appreciated them explaining everything from start to finish. Thanks again!

We hired Modern Xterior to build a large gable overhang above our back patio. It was done professionally and in a timely manner. All township inspections passed and would recommend them to anyone looking to have work on their house. It turned out beautiful and exceeded all of our expectations. I called Modern Xterior about having my house resided. The sales men was very honest and only suggested doing a small repair vice a total residing job. Saving me thousands of dollars. Had Siding over my garage and rotting wood replaced on back of home. The dropped off dumpster day before so when crew showed up early they were ready to work. Jesse did an amazing job and went above and beyond to help me with insurance claims when a tree fell on my house. He and his team provided quick and meticulous work on my new roof, gutters, and siding! The clean up was more than I had expected as well. He even got me in contact with other contractors to fix my window and air conditioner. I would highly recommend Modern Xterior to fix problems, and make your house look fabulous!

Had my garage roof completely redone from wood to shingles. These guys are great! Reasonable price and excellent quality workmanship and service! Crew showed up on time and worked hard and got it done in one day. The new roof had a good test drive with the drenching rain yesterday morning and happy to report no leaks and a dry garage. Will definitely recommend this company to anyone and will use them again when I need future work done. Thank you Modern Xterior for a job well done and great customer service…

I had some concerns and second thoughts after my initial estimate, and the team addressed my points quickly and thoughtfully. Lisa, Spencer, and Todd listened to me and answered all of my questions. Fantastic customer service! Many of the bigger companies would have blown me off, but Modern Xterior treated me with respect and patience and showed that they value their customer’s input. We had our roof replaced, compete tare off by Modern, they did a great job. Roof looks great and my leaks have stopped. Todd and his crew went above and beyond to help me with some gutter work that I was doing on my own, they came out and assisted me to get the job done.

The men who did the siding were very pleasant people. They were cooperative with each other and with me. They work as a team and each one knows his job perfectly. The house looks so pretty now. The price was very steep but I do not regret it seeing the finished work. They gave me 3/4″ insulation and the Tyvek-like coating and then the siding and trim around windows and doors and the soffits, all matching so perfectly. I recommend them highly.

I had experienced many roofing companies, but none made me feel comfortable UNTIL! I connected with the people from MODERN XTERIOR.Everyone one from beginning to end (the receptionist to the people who came and put on the new roof) were cooperative, easy to talk to and professional.Todd was my first contact with the company and right from the beginning I knew I was in good hands. Everything was explained in a way that I could understand. They went out of their way to help me with the adjuster on my insurance claim. Expenses were quoted at the beginning and there where no surprises at the end. I can’t believe they worked in this cold weather and finished my roof in 2 (two) days AND IT LOOKS GREAT! Everything happened on time just as Jim said, down to the final walk through. They just took away all the stress.I will, and have, recommended Modern Xterior to anyone who needs a new roof.

The experience left us convinced that service still exists in a world where speed seems to be the priority more often than not. The gutters are good just need to get gutter guards now. Its incredibly difficult to get ahold of someone if you have questions about the work or want additional services. Otherwise i would have given them 5 stars.
